FAQs
Gator's Sand Pumping LLC
What is sinkage?
Sinkage refers to the settling of the ground, which can create voids beneath your slab foundation or result in low areas in your yard. What is the process for sand pumping?
The sand pumping process involves two vehicles: a sand truck and a truck with a trailer. Sand is transferred from the truck through a machine and pumped via hoses. In some instances, small holes are dug around the slab's perimeter to access areas underneath the home, filling all accessible voids. The outer edge is also addressed for a clean finish. Water is used to wash in the sand, ensuring it's packed tightly and won't wash away. We strongly recommend gutter extensions to prevent sand erosion near downspouts during heavy rainfall. What is the estimated time of completion?
The completion time varies based on the amount of sand required, the number of sand trucks used (one or two), and the job location. With two trucks, we can typically complete 4 loads if the site is nearby, or 3 loads if it's further away, in a single day.Do we need to be present upon arrival of crew?
Your presence isn't necessary if our crew has unobstructed access to the property perimeter, there are no locked gates, and no pets are in the yard. How accurate is your sand estimate?
Our estimates are generally quite precise. Our estimator has over 15 years of experience and is typically accurate within one load of the actual amount needed. Will the price per load be the same if more is needed than the estimated amount?
The price per load remains consistent for any additional loads required. However, we will not exceed the estimated amount without first obtaining approval from the homeowner. Why does price vary in different areas?
Price variations are primarily due to travel distance and accessibility of the site. These factors are considered to ensure our expenses are covered for each job. With the 1 load minimum, if the full load isn't used can we put sand elsewhere?
Yes, any unused sand can be used to fill low spots around your property. However, you must be present to direct the sand crew where to place the extra sand. Please note that we cannot transfer leftover sand to a different property.About have many yards is 1 load of sand?
One load of sand typically contains approximately 15 cubic yards of material. Can I schedule a sand estimate?
We do not schedule sand estimates in advance. Our estimator conducts assessments when not engaged in other jobs and is in your area. We will contact you to see if you need to be present when he's available to stop by, or we'll inform you that he will be visiting if your presence isn't required.
